Mrs. Johnston's News and Assignments for Feb. 3-7

Sorry for my late post...I just forgot!!

6th grade--Ch 13 Less 1 Test Wed. Feb. 5. Recite the entire, 4 verses of the Star-Spangled Banner for a test grade. Witch of Blackbird Pond activities for 7th period elective are due on Monday, Feb.10.

7th grade--Landform spelling and location test today. Landform definition test on Friday, Feb. 7.

8th grade--Working on Ancient China. Test middle to end of next week.

9th grade--Watching Jason and the Argonauts (1963) on YouTube. If students have been absent they should watch it on their own in order to do a comparison/contrast with the story in Mythology.

Parent Notifications

1- Tests/Quizzes will no longer come home upon completion. The teachers will return them to the student to go over in class. The grades will be posted on STI. If parents wish to see the test/quiz, arrangements can be make with the teacher.

2- If your student receives detention, expect a phone call or email from Dr. Mehaffey or Mrs. Hudspeth. If your child has accumulated detentions that result in after school detention, this will be scheduled on Thursdays and parents will be notified by Dr. Mehaffey.

3- When students are absent, an Absentee Work Folder will be circulated to compile work, worksheet, notes, etc. This folder with the due date of assignments will be given to the student when they return to school. Three days are allocated for make up work unless other arrangements are determined by the teacher and Dr. Mehaffey (Handbook pg. 20).
