Mrs. Beaty's Assignments for October 21-25

Fall Temperatures Are Here!

We will have a very busy two weeks in English: commas, semi colons, colons, & prepositions

We will be reading short stories to prepare us for our field trip, October 31: "The Monkey's Paw," The Raven," and "The Tell-Tale Heart." We will also view the film The Legend of Sleepy Hollow. If you have not sent your money, please do so. If your child will not be attending, I need to know MONDAY!!!! I also need 2 more drivers or another driver for one of our small buses.

Wednesday & Friday: Prepositions Tests
Thursday: Commas Test

Patriot's Pen Due Thursday!!!!! We wrote most of this in class. Please look over your child's essay. It has to be typed; 300-400 words;double-spaced do not put his/her name on it.

6th graders are to read 2 AR books this 9 weeks. They already have a biography as 1 of those, but they must read another. They will receive a composite test grade: a zero if no books, a 50 if only 1 book, and a 100 if 2 books. They will also receive the grade they score on each AR test.
