Mrs. Kim Beaty's Assignments for October 14-18

The first 9 weeks ends this week-it went by so fast!

We started our Patriot's Pens essays in class last week, and they will take them home Tuesday for you to help give your thoughts. I have tried to "patriotize" them, but you might do a better job! These should be typed and returned to school no later than October 24.

English 9 weeks tesst will be Wednesday. Students should study old test papers which includes vocabulary. 

We have prepositions test this Wednesday (Yes, same day as 9 weeks) & Friday!

We will begin punctuation this week.

Continue to pray for Rhodes & Harris's mother, Ms. Tara.

JV football game has been cancelled for Tuesday, but Pee Wee's will still play.

PLEASE SEND YOUR $20 FOR THE FIELD TRIP ASAP!!!!!!!!!! I need drivers. Text me at 695-4185 if you can drive. Drivers also need to pay :(

Change in Math Nine Weeks test. It will be on Wednesday, Oct. 16 and not Monday, Oct. 14

Mrs. Johnston's News and Assignments for October 7-11

6th Grade--Chapter 11 The Constitution. Just starting on Wednesday. 9 Wks test will cover Chapter 9 and Chapter 10. Students will know what to study by Thursday of this week. 9 wks tests are October 14-16. 6th grade will go shopping for Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes on Thursday, October 10 and for breakfast. Please send money for breakfast at Burger King or McDonald's.

7th Grade--Test on Chapters 4 and 5 on Friday, October 11. 7th grade will go shopping for Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes and lunch on Wednesday, October 9. Please send money for a fast food lunch.

8th Grade--Test on Chapter 2 Section 1 on Thursday, October 10. 8th grade will go shopping for Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes and lunch on Friday, October 11. Please send money for a fast food lunch.

Science News October 8-15

6th grade

The Nine Weeks Test will be given, Tuesday, Oct. 15.
It will cover chapter 1-5, with the bulk of the test coming from chapter 5.
The students have past study guides to begin looking over. I will be reviewing in class this week also.

7th grade

The Nine Weeks Test will be given, Tuesday, Oct. 15.
It will cover chapters 1-4, with the bulk of the test coming from chapter 4.
We will be reviewing this week also. They should be looking over past study guides a little each night.

8th grade

The Nine Weeks Test will be given, Tuesday, Oct. 15.
It will cover chapters 1-5.
In addition to covering chapter 5, we will be reviewing all week this week. They should begin to look over past study guides this week at home.

Ms. Mitchell - Computer Science - October 8-11

We are continuing to work on business letters.  Students in 8th grade will key one for a quiz grade Tuesday and key another one for a test grade on Thursday.  On Friday, 8th grade will take an objective test on letters.  Students in 6th and 7th grades will key a business letter for a quiz grade Tuesday and Wednesday and one for a test grade on Friday.  They will take the objective test next Monday.

Mrs. Beaty's English Assignments Oct 7-11 NEW INFORMATION ABOUT FIELD TRIP!!!

Looking forward to the cooler temperatures this week!

We have been watching short videos to help us with the Patriot's Pen essay. We will begin writing them this week. Students whose essays are chosen may win money, but all students will receive a grade counting as a test-60%. Remember papers must be typed.

We will NOT have vocabulary for the next 4 weeks, but we will have preposition quizzes. There will be 2 quizzes per week!  Students must know how to pick out prepositions and prepositional phrases  in order to understand subject/verb agreement and pronoun objective case. Grammar is like a puzzle and knowing preps help put the puzzle together.

Come out and support our girls and boys in their volleyball and football games this week!

Please be in prayer for Mrs. Tara Bennett. She is the mother of sophomore Harris Bennett and 8th grader Rhodes Bennett. She had a car accident Friday and has a long way to recovery.

WE WILL BE GOING TO THE CHAMBER THEATRE PRODUCTION OF 5 BELOVED SHORT STORIES, DAVIS THEATRE IN MONTGOMERY, OCTOBER 31.  WE WILL LEAVE SCHOOL AT 7:45 AND WILL RETURN AT 3:00. THE PERFORMANCE STARTS AT 10:30. SEND $20.00 ASAP. I ALSO NEED DRIVERS. WE WILL BE TAKING THE 7TH, 8TH, & 9TH GRADES. PLEASE LET ME KNOW ASAP IF YOU CAN DRIVE AND HOW MANY YOU CAN FIT SAFELY IN YOUR VEHICLE. ALL STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO ATTEND. DRESS CODE WILL BE SCHOOL UNIFORMS.

Ms. Mitchell - Computer Science - Sept 30 to Oct 4

Students are learning to key business letters in class Monday - Thursday.  The 8th grade will key a business letter for a quiz grade in class Thursday.  The 6th and 7th graders will key a letter for a quiz grade in class next Tuesday.  I will not be at school Friday. Students will be working in the keyboardingonline.com program to continue to improve their typing skills.

Science News October 1-11

6th grade

We are finishing up chapter 4 this week. The soil testing lab was postponed because several students did not bring in soil samples. We will try again on Wednesday.
THE TEST HAS BEEN MOVED TO THURSDAY, OCT. 3.

7th grade

It appears that what we covered during homecoming week did not stick. 😩 Therefore, the test has been backed up to FRIDAY, OCT. 3.

8th grade

The kids did an awesome job with their insulator projects! I was proud of them.
Their test on chapter 4 is scheduled for FRIDAY, OCT 3
